Richard Salgado (Chile, 1973) is a photographer and audiovisual artist. His work has consisted mainly in photojournalism and documentary films. He has worked as cinematographer for several documentaries, like Respirar Helado (2014), which was selected for several international festivals. He co-founded the Rectángulo collective, where he co-directed a series of short documentaries Rectángulo en el Ojo (2014) with an extensive presence at international festivals. El Valle de los Negros (The valley of black descendants) (2016) is his directorial debut.
